About this deal

Again though, you will get access to these two new models before they are released separately. So, if you want them, this will be your only option for a month or so. Kit out your plastic MKVI Tactical Squads with the striated heads of the Alpha Legion. And even though ‘making your officers stand out on the battlefield’ rather goes against the credo of the most mysterious Legion, it does undeniably look cool. This set contains 11 resin heads: three sets of three designs, one more embellished head for your chief decoy, and a bare head that must be like staring into the visage of Alpharius (or Omegon) himself.

Unfortunately it seems the scalpers are going to get my money for the Azrael model. When you really think about it, GW's probably going to charge a similar amount so why not get it sooner? Probably would go to a marginally better cause than GW's wallets. On the whole, the box is good. There are a slew of good-quality miniatures in here, including two very new, very exciting figures in the form of Vashtorr and Azrael. These two models are seriously impressive and very much make up for some of the shortcomings in the box. The rest of the Chaos miniatures are very nice and not too difficult to assemble either, which is always a bonus. I love the Obliterators in particular and really can’t wait to paint these up and add them to the small collection of Chaos figures I already have. Since they are effectively staging another Ark of Omen scenario, you’d think they would have thrown some of the new scenario models in the box. Preferably something with a DA feel to it. On Warhammer Community, we’ll have reveals for three different games**, more details of Vashtorr and the impact he can have both on and off the battlefield, and plenty more besides. Any set that contains a character with the reputation and grandiosity of Grand Master Azrael needs a suitable counterpart for them to square off against. Wrath of the Soul Forge King provides this in spectacular fashion with the brand-new Big Bad Evil Guy of the Warhammer 40,000 universe: Vashtorr.Bring even bigger guns to bear in the Age of Darkness with the Typhon Heavy Siege Tank. Designed to suit the battleplans of Perturabo himself, this modified Land Raider sports a frankly massive dreadhammer siege cannon that can reduce buildings to rubble and flatten whole squads. Exodus – The One Who Is Many The Venomcrawler and Obliterators are a trio of impressive miniatures that serve an important function in this box. Alone, Vashtorr, a towering monstrosity of warpforged machine and daemonic muscle, would stand out. He would be an odd inclusion alongside a bunch of Chaos Space Marines or similar. However, side-by-side with the Venomcrawler and Obliterators, where he sits within the wider Chaosphere makes a lot more sense. This guy helps make these things – he’s one of the twisted minds behind all he disturbing meat-machines that the Forces of Chaos field in the 41st Millennium. Maybe he’s even the O.G. designer.

Skaven are ascendent in Guy Haley’s The Rise of the Horned Rat . Verminlords stalk the World-that-Was, and two rival kings prepare to face the full force of Queek Headtaker’s verminous horde in the fourth book of the End Times series, which is heading to audiobook next week. Wrath of The Lost After many, many years, Azrael, Grand Master of the Dark Angels Chapter, has crossed the Rubicon Primaris.Tie the whole ‘many-heads-one-body’ look together with this set of 10 embossed resin shoulder pads for your MKVI Tactical Marines, each showing the profane Hydra iconography of the Alpha Legion. The sons of Mortarion are ready to fumigate their local voidcraft with this bloated Boarding Patrol led by a putrid Lord of Virulence, his three sworn Deathshroud Terminators, and 10 incredibly sturdy Plague Marines who benefit from a corrupted cornucopia of weapon options. Boarding Patrol: Genestealer Cults Grand Tourmament 2020/ 2021/ War Zone Nachmund/ War Zone Nephilim/ Arks of Omen • Munitorum Field Manual/ 2021/ 2022 • Tactical Deployment Certainly makes that side more Dark Angels than Azrael + (insert selection of generic primaris kits here).

Warhammer 40K Wrath of the Soul Forge King Review

Deathwing Terminators, which can also be built as Deathwing Knights or a Deathwing Terminator Command Squad I personally quite like those Deathwing scultps, it's a fairly popular kit, so I think adding them is fairly sensible. Yes, folks: WotSFK is the first place you’ll be able to get your hands on Primais-ified Azrael, Grand Master of the Dark Angels Chapter, and the new big bad of Warhammer 40,000, Vashtorr the Arkifane. Genestealers love space hulks, and Boarding Patrol: Genestealer Cults is just as at home on board voidcraft. A Kelermorph heads up his revolutionary brood of 10 Acolyte Hybrids and five Aberrants, with a hulking Abominant adding some extra muscle. Imperial Knights Dice SetNo Wrath of the Soul Forge King box artwork? No opportunity for me to say “this’d make a great poster provided yours has survived transit without any perforations or gouges from the plastic it sits beneath”? The inclusion of the Dark Angels Primaris Upgrade Sprue also allows for a few more individualised touches and flourishes across the models, from sculpted shoulderpads (which you can see in the image above) to additional trinkets and weapons on a few. It’s not something you have to include, but if you’re really committing to the Dark Angels side of things (which you kinda have to if you’re buying this box!), you’ll probably want to. But parts of the box do feel like more of an exercise in quantity over quality. All the models in the box are nice, sure, but by comparison do feel a little like safe choices. The Chaos Cultists – which good-quality models – are dull by immediate comparison. The Dark Angels don’t get off scott-free either. Inside the box, you'll find a total of 30 plastic Citadel miniatures, including Vashtorr the Arkifane, a Venomcrawler, two Obliterators, 10 Chaos Cultists armed with brutal weapons, Supreme Grand Master Azrael, 10 Intercessors, and 5 Deathwing Terminators, which can also be built as Deathwing Knights or a Deathwing Terminator Command Squad. The set also includes two Dark Angels Primaris Upgrade Frames and a Dark Angels Primaris Transfers sheet.

The three heroes of the Battle of Osgiliath boxed set arrive as a standalone group – the Rangers of Ithilien – for the first time. Faramir excels as a commander with plenty of Heroic Actions at his disposal, while Madril and Damrod are cost-effective heroes for Good armies. If you would like to find out more information, please visit http://www.aboutads.info/choices/or http://www.youronlinechoices.com. I’m still umming and aahing about the Intercessors. Part of me likes that I’ve now got a few more proper classic Space Marine-style Space Marines for my army, but part of me also wishes the box had come with something a bit more bespoke. Swapping them out for another Deathwing or other Dark Angels unit likely wouldn’t fly, however, as most of the Dark Angels models are just as old as or even older than the Deathwing Terminators which are on the cusp of turning. The upgrade sprues are very welcome, as they do go some way to scratching that itch (and sculpted shoulderpads are always better than shoulderpads with transfers, in my opinion). We can’t hide from the fact that their scale is a bit off. In the olden pre-Primaris days of Warhammer 40,000, Terminators were always meant to be the big, frightening swole dudes of the Space Marines chapters. Whilst each Space Marine was a super-human, nigh-unstoppable killing machine, Terminators were intended to be walking fortresses. But side-by-side with the Primaris-scale Space marines, the effect is a gone. Ugh, that DA box is pretty crap- Azrael himself and the termies are ok, but no one needs any more Intercessors. You may have noticed that GW did give you both a helmeted head and a bare one, along with accounting for either option with the watcher in the dark, the little guy gets either a helmet or a big ass sheath to haul around. This does lead to a scenario I find quite amusing as there’s absolutely nothing stopping you from giving both of them helmets, just in case you want Azrael to have a spare noggin protector.
