On my skin, the opening is reminiscent of baked apple pie with cinnamon sprinkles rather than anything too earthy or woody. The dry-down, however, is rather austere and not yummy or sweet at all. This is a pleasant fragrance, easy to like (like most Hugo Boss fragrances), with a modern aroma, which is far from the classic aroma, in fact the DNA of the original Boss Bottled is barely recognizable, so if you are looking a fragrance with the aroma of the EDT, but more powerful, in this version you will not find it, for that was or is Boss Bottled Eau de Parfum Intense.Exuding a powerful balance of strength and sophistication, base notes of dark vetiver and musk evolve through time, delivering a leathery and smoky signature. While the EdP is not unpleasant, it is also not as appealing as the original. A heavier cinnamon or pepper note in the mid would have given this profile a bit more depth - although that may have drawn comparisons to 1 Million in response. This EdP struggles for an audience. It is not enough like the EdT to be an option for a fan looking for something just a little bit different, nor is it an outstanding fragrance in the kind of earthy-woody space of the fragrance market. It complements any distinctive look. The bottle containing the aromatic liquid is also an epitome of classic art and style. The perfume is essential in modern-day men’s grooming.
