With carbide blades being available for similar money to a standard blade these days, or soon enough if ya just can't speak Chinese, seems that there maybe a market for this sorta thing on this side of the pond soon. I started trying to more or less center the blade on the tyres but couldn’t move the lower bearings back enough with this configuration. Despite these humble origins, the fence is rock-solid, smooth as silk, adjusts for drift, and offers up to 9 in. The adjustment bolts are indeed not conveniently located and the fence does need regular adjustments so I share the frustration… but it’s not as bad as adjusting the lower bearing guide assembly (I’m wondering what the engineers were thinking when they designed it as it’s not very rigid and has hard to access nuts and bolts which can move in too many directions). The actual function of the measuring tape, with its very fine divisions, together with the lens cursor, is very good indeed and, once calibrated, extremely accurate. Once everything was assembled, I took a block plane and gave a few swipes over the bottom edge of the fence, to make absolutely sure it was flush with the base. The kit comes with large and small fences and both have adjustable resaw bars which is all very useful.

To fix this, I cut out a square just in the middle so that the guide assembly can be lowered down to the height of the normal fence. Hey everyone, I’m a beginner at woodworking but recently acquired an old delta 28-560 bandsaw that’s got a really nice cast iron top with a miter slot. People do different things with their bandsaws and make them do things that they were not meant to do and for a wide range of reasons, not the least of which can be laziness and being unskilled in other areas like using hand tools. I unclamped the base from the table, then checked that the braces still fit and the fence was square to the base. If your saw never had one, or has a poor quality one, this fence will improve your band saw instantly. Now glue the block into its recess and drill a pilot hole through the block and into the runner for the threaded insert that holds the hinge bolt.
