About this deal

y tenía demasiadas conversaciones consigo mismo (que esto no tiene nada de malo, yo a cada rato hablo sola, PERO no es algo que hubiera esperado de Christian Grey. Unlike any woman he has known before, shy, unworldly Ana seems to see right through him - past the business prodigy and the penthouse lifestyle to Christian's cold, wounded heart. Christian Grey’s candid narrative gives the familiar story a raw, passionate and much sexier context .

There are things that have been left out that were in the first book but have been replaced by something that has happened or is happening in Christian's life. He finds humor where he would usually be irritated, and he sees possibility even though he knows he has no business pursuing her. Christian argues with Ana that Elena wasn’t a paedophile, (at least, he didn’t see her this way) yet the focus is on the sexual nature of their relationship rather than what Elena offered him as a solution to his problems. In Christian's own words, and through his thoughts, reflections, and dreams, E L James offers a fresh perspective on the love story that has enthralled millions of readers around the world.Without her he probably would have ended up like his mother – a druggie who overdosed when he was just four. He represents the quintessential broken and reclusive billionaire who is incapable of a standard relationship or love.

E L James has been recognised as one of Time magazine's ‘Most Influential People in the World’ and Publishers Weekly’s ‘Person of the Year’.We enjoy a FICTIONALIZED account of BDSM that ultimately concludes with a hot bazillionaire not being nearly as hard a case as he thought he was. However, these characters intrigue me considerably, for reasons I can’t quite get a handle on, but I think it has to do with the potential for depth in these characters. It was watching him struggle with his desire for her, his need of punishment and ultimately his undoing. It has also crossed my mind that perhaps she has been sat on this book from the beginning and announcing the release of this book just before the release of the 50 Shades of Grey DVD was a stroke of marketing genius: announce the book in time to encourage sales of the DVD of a film which didn’t do quite as well in the reviews as they would have hoped. James - your beta readers and/or editor failed a bit with the "have a lie in" and other very British phrasings that weren't switched around for us 'Muricans.

As readers, we wanted to know why Christian fell in love with Ana and what made him pursue her as he did. B/c just like all the accusations that James knows not-one-thing about the BDSM community, guess what? Every time he would acknowledge that weird feeling in his chest whenever Ana would do or say something affectionate, I was swooning. From a business perspective, I applaud the decision to release a version of a book that has already been published that is largely the same as the book that has already been published. I enjoyed being encouraged to look at the plot from a different angle and I enjoyed being given the hints to Christian’s thoughts and reactions, although I would have preferred more than just hints at times. On 11 June 2015 Random House reported that a finished copy of Grey had been stolen and that the theft was being investigated by Kent police. It brought a long list of friends that I hold near and dear to my heart and it has given me an outlet that I did not have before.

It's a perfect portrayal of an unhealthy relationship, as Grey, here shown to be an immature, self-loathing sadist with mother issues, attempts to lure a sexually inexperienced young woman into an ill-considered, unconvincing BDSM arrangement for which she's not suited. I think getting to see Ana the way Christian seen her was also great because it not only made Ana more Personable, but it made Christian seem more real.I liked it well enough, and it definitely had me jonesing to reread the trilogy, but Christian direct from the source is a bit too much for me.
