About this deal

Desire Red’s heart begins to really tout its bubblegum sweetness but still shows some restraint. Overall, its quite earthy at this stage thanks to the patchouli while the teak and rose provide the sweet accord that surprisingly isn’t overly floral. First of all, we’re looking at four very distinct fragrances with their own unique identities. Nevertheless, it’s important to remember that they can be considered affordable fragrances and sometimes that is reflected in the overall experience. Blue Desire continues on its oceanic theme and the calone continues to follow into the base. Although some tonka bean and benzoin seek to add a gourmand flavour to this bouquet, it is mostly drowned out by the ambergris that only adds to the aquatic profile.

Overall, I would say that Desire is worth a try. It might not fit every guy’s style but I think it will be appreciated by many and is appealing enough to attract the ladies. Finally, Desire Silver is so mild and inoffensive that nobody disliked it. However, they weren’t enamoured by it either. Nevertheless, its clean and soapy character was appreciated by people who thought it would be good for the gym or office. As you can see above, each of the fragrances feature a note of bergamot. While this does bring them together, they’re expressed very differently. After all, it is one of the most popular opening notes in a fragrance.First of all, I want to make it clear that you don't be fooled by "Extreme", because here there is nothing here, it is an aroma with similar characteristics to the original, and I don't mean its aroma, because they don't smell the same, but to its versatility, perfect for all situations. not be liable for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage arising under these terms and I can't help but think that I'm wearing Polo Red Intense / Extreme when trying out Desire Extreme. Perceptually, this flanker is in between the Polo flankers...like a Polo Red Intense-and-a-half or three-quarters-Polo Red Extreme. Blue, quite literally on the other hand, has revealed its oceanic character with an unapologetic burst of calone. Fortunately, this is curbed slightly thanks to the orange blossom and rosewood, which some substance to the fatty aldehyde aquatic compound.

For instance, both Desire Red and Blue may come across as somewhat cheap. In some circles, this isn’t ideal. However, you can wear it to your advantage. The performance is good, something better than the original, remaining in skin between 7 or 8 hours, with a moderate wake initially, and progressively lowering. It is not an extraordinary performance, but I think it adds versatility to this type of compositions, since it makes it suitable for any type of situation and for use at any time of the day or time of the year. Red and Blue did indeed fare best with younger people. While Red was more popular with women, Blue was actually enjoyed more by younger men. In both cases, people did remark that it would have been hugely success twenty or thirty years ago but seemed a little dated today. The citrus allows it to venture into the warmer weather, but it won’t perform near it’s peak when it’s blistering outside. After about an hour, the fruit notes begin to lose some of their potency and Desire evolves into a more woodsy and oriental type of fragrance. It is still sweet, but you get more of the teak wood and musky base. Along with the rose, I get orange blossom, as an additional floral note. The floral presence is moderate, but definitely not overwhelming. In the opening act, you get apple as the main note, with a grab bag of citrus aromas coming in. Again, pretty unisex, at this point in time. For instance, the head-to-heart transition is unpredictable and exciting. Similarly, it beautifully evolved into its rich resinous base and eventually a skin scent with elegance and pace. Top notes of Desire Extreme blend vibrant notes of bergamot, red orange and saffron as an introduction to cypress and clary sage in the heart of the fragrance. The base is masculine, created of leather and combined with patchouli, amber and vetiver. Masculine and elegant Desire Extreme introduces the new version of luxury to the collection of Dunhill.

I see the red orange, saffron (a Polo Red staple note), and leather in the base cling to each other synergistically creating a heavy fruity punch, rounded out subtly by the sage and cypress deep within. Patchouli's inherent sweet nature paints the picture of this one having coffee or chocolate, though neither are in the mix. As it’s more moderate and mild, it would probably be a solid option to wear at junior positions or if sharing an open space office. Interestingly, and this is just an observation, each of the caps have a knurled finish except for Desire Blue. For some reason, it’s very slightly different. Similarly, it also features the name down the side while all the others are blank. Once into the base, Desire Red continues with its bubblegum sweetness, which persists well into the skin scent. However, it has developed a muskiness brought on by the presence of labdanum and just a dash of agarwood. This is significantly softened by a pinch of vanilla that further contributes to the sweetness. Desire by Alfred Dunhill enjoyed plenty of popularity after its release in 1997. That popularity has waned some since then, however, that doesn’t mean that it has suddenly become a bad scent. This is a rather unique cologne for men, which will fill a certain niche in a man’s inventory of scents or become a daily wear for a certain type of guy. In this post, I want to explore my thoughts about Desire, after wearing it around for a few days in the past week and whether or not I would recommend it.In the end, I am left with rose, vanilla, musk, wood, and some lingering sweetness from the fruit notes. It’s nice with a warm sweet/spice blend, quite attractive overall.

The leathery character of this scent is intensely masculine. Originally created from real scrap leather scented with burnt birch peel, a leather accord is now primarily birchbark essence free of animal-based products. Bergamot, saffron and blood orange make up the head of this particular EdT. Next heart notes of cypress and clary sage take the lead. The experience ends with a base of vetiver, leather and patchouli. (Vetiver, sometimes called khus, is an Indian grass similar to citronella.) Dunhill Fragrances: Price UKWhile they’re also both quite casual, they contrast each other enough to be used in different situations. For instance, Desire Red is an excellent nighttime winter fragrance and would be a great option for clubbing. For this price range, it’s really more than what you get with other comparable fragrances. No real complaints because Desire is still is above average in sillage and longevity. The fruity rose part, does have a unisex if not a women’s level of sweetness and style. But, that musk and vanilla dry down is better for most guys. When it becomes woodier, less sweet, and more balanced overall. Finally, Silver is very mild compared to the other flankers. While the ambergris bring forward the refreshing sea-breeze notes with a hint of musk, the birch is very underplayed and the vetiver just about adds some character to this subtle fragrance.
